The oh-so-famous Sholes Visible. One of the funkiest designs in all of typewriter manufacturing. C.L. Sholes' last typewriter design, later marketed by his sons Frederick and Louis. The machine uses a front strike mechanism that is unlike any other machine made in the history of typewriter production. Sold relatively well, but is very rare today. This example here, serial number 5304, is the only known machine with a wide carriage. It is definitely not a prototype, so there must be others out there. Any information on its existence, even a photo would be wonderful to see.
The Sholes Visible was also rebranded for a short period as the Bonita Ball Bearing.
